RiverReach support
RiverReach is developed by Scott Michael Short. For help, feedback or a spot correction, contact scottmshort21@gmail.com. You can also open Profile → Settings → Help & feedback in the app.
When something goes wrong
Tell us what you were trying to do, what happened, and your RiverReach version, iPhone model and iOS version. The feedback screen includes app/device details in a draft for you to review. Avoid sending private coordinates, a full journal backup or other people's contact details unless needed.
Where are my records stored?
Your journal and private spots are stored on your device. This version has no RiverReach account or journal sync. We cannot retrieve a journal from a RiverReach server.
How do I back up or move my records?
Open Profile → Settings → Data & privacy → Export + Import. Save a full JSON backup somewhere you control. On another iPhone, choose that file in the import screen and review the proposed changes. Device settings are restored only when you select that option. Review a full backup before sharing it; it can contain photos, exact locations and safety contacts.
A save failed. What should I do?
Keep the form open and retain a copy of what you entered. Follow the message shown in the app and retry. Do not delete or reinstall the app to troubleshoot without first saving a backup of records you want to keep.
Why is a gauge or forecast missing?
NWS forecasts and USGS gauges need a connection and may be unavailable or out of date. Gauge readings younger than six hours can appear with their age. At one hour they are labelled “not a current reading” and stop driving computed advice. No reading can guarantee safe conditions at the water.
Does RiverReach prove legal or safe access?
No. Check current regulations, posted signs, landowner permission and conditions. Agency listings may be incomplete or outdated. Field notes and safety plans stay on your device; they are not sent to an emergency service.
How do I delete my data?
Use the app's available record controls, or delete the app to remove local RiverReach data. Offloading keeps saved data. Exports, device backups and emails may remain at their destination. Read the privacy policy for details.
How do I ask you to delete a support email?
If possible, email scottmshort21@gmail.com from the address used for the request. Say which RiverReach conversation you want removed. You do not need to attach your journal or a backup. The privacy policy explains support-email retention and deletion.
