RiverReach privacy policy

Records on your device
Your catches, catch photos, private spots, field notes, trips, safety plans, profile, search history and settings are stored in RiverReach on your device. This version has no RiverReach account, journal sync, community publishing, advertising SDK or added analytics SDK. We cannot retrieve a journal stored only on your device.
iOS may include app data in device backups according to your settings. Apple controls those backup services. RiverReach does not operate a separate backup server.
Location, maps and environmental services
Location permission is optional. When you ask for your location, RiverReach requests a location fix while you use the app. It does not request background location tracking.
The National Weather Service receives the selected area's coordinates for forecast requests. USGS receives a geographic search area for nearby gauges. Apple services receive map and place-search requests, addresses you choose to look up, and coordinates used for address lookup. These services may receive your IP address and request details and handle them under their own policies. RiverReach does not send your catch journal or catch photos to NWS or USGS.
See the NWS privacy policy, USGS privacy policy and Apple privacy policy.
Exports and sharing
You choose whether to export or share a file and which destination receives it. Full backups can contain exact locations, photos, profile details, unfinished work and safety contacts. Private-spot exports can contain exact coordinates. Catch CSV exports use your journal privacy settings for locations, weather and gauges; those settings do not redact full backups. Review files before sharing them.
Files saved to another app, cloud drive or recipient are handled by that destination. Deleting RiverReach does not delete those copies.
Feedback and support email
Feedback opens an email draft that you can review, edit or cancel. If you send it, we receive your email address, the message and attachments you choose, and the app/device version included in the draft. We use that correspondence to respond to your request. Do not send private fishing coordinates, a full journal backup or safety-contact details unless they are needed and you want to share them.
Support email retention: We keep messages and attachments while a request is open, then delete them from the support mailbox within 90 days after resolution. You may request earlier deletion using the support address; we aim to complete it within 30 days. If a legal obligation requires longer retention, we keep only the information required for that purpose.
Scott Michael Short handles RiverReach support. Support correspondence is used to answer your request and investigate the issue. It is not used for advertising or to add you to a mailing list. No one else is given routine access to RiverReach support correspondence.
The support address uses Gmail. Google processes email through that service under its privacy policy. Deleting a message from the support mailbox does not guarantee immediate deletion of provider backups or copies held by another recipient.

These pages are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The pages do not add advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, contact forms or cookies. Cloudflare may process your IP address, browser or device information and technical traffic data to deliver and protect the website. We do not download or keep separate visitor logs. Cloudflare handles provider-held traffic data under its own service and privacy terms.
See the Cloudflare privacy policy for the hosting provider's handling of technical traffic data.
Retention, deletion and choices
Local records remain until you remove them using the app's available controls or delete the app. Offloading the app keeps its saved data. Export a backup first if you want to keep your records.
Deleting the app removes its local data, but exported files, device backups and emails you already sent may remain. Manage those copies at their destination. You can change location and photo permissions in iOS Settings. Contact us about deletion of support correspondence; we cannot delete copies held independently by another recipient or provider.
Changes
Updates to this policy will appear on this page with a new effective date. The in-app privacy screen is available even when you are offline.
